
Michael Shaar is a seasoned real estate professional with a solid educational background and a wealth of experience. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UCLA in 1990 and has been a licensed Realtor since the same year, advancing to become a Broker Associate in 1994. Over the years, Michael has been an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the Pasadena Foothills Association of Realtors (PFAR).
His long tenure with RE/MAX Tri-City Realty, starting in 1990, is marked by numerous accolades, including the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 and induction into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame in 2005. He has consistently been recognized for his outstanding performance with awards such as the RE/MAX Platinum Club Award in 2012 and 2014, and the RE/MAX 100% Club Award multiple times between 2001 and today.
In addition to his work with RE/MAX, Michael is the Broker/Owner of S.I.G. Property Management, a position he has held since 1995. Under his leadership, the firm, which operates out of La Crescenta, manages over 300 properties and holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.
Michael’s involvement extends beyond his professional life into various leadership roles in industry organizations. He served as the State Director for the California Association of Realtors from 2007 to 2012 and as Regional Chair of the Property Management Committee in 2009. His leadership roles also include being the President of the Pasadena Foothills Association of Realtors in 2010 and the National Association of Residential Property Managers’ Los Angeles Chapter in 2016-2017, and again in 2023 and 2024.
His community involvement is extensive, highlighted by his presidency of the Montrose-Verdugo Chamber of Commerce in 2005 and the Sunland Tujunga Chamber of Commerce as Treasurer and Board Member from 2015 to 2018. Michael has also been actively engaged in the Rotary Club, serving as President of the Glendale Sunrise Rotary Club from 2020 to 2022, and previously, with the Crescenta Valley Rotary Club, where he was recognized as Rotarian of the Year.
Michael’s commitment to community service is further evidenced by his role in the American Cancer Society’s Foothills Relay For Life, where he co-chaired the event in 2005 and has been a team captain multiple times. His contributions to local commerce and community events have earned him numerous awards, including the 2005 Volunteer of the Year Award from the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Man of the Year Award by the Montrose Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his professional and community roles, Michael enjoys traveling with his family, concerts, and volunteering. His dedication to his profession and his community makes him a highly respected figure in both real estate and local civic circles.
